Over 30 Years of BJJ Excellence

Professor David Dunn began his martial arts journey on the campus of Michigan State University in 1984 after spending a handful of years studying the art of taekwondo on campus.  Mr. Dunn moved to Los Angeles California and began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts journey.E arly on Mr. Dunn fell in love with the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and migrated to the best in the business in Master Jean-Jacques Machado.

Mr. Dunn has earned all of his rank from blue belt to 5th degree Black Belt with Master Machado. Mr. Dunn continues to train at the JJM  headquarters in Woodland Hills, regularly.

Mr. Dunn originally opened his Academy in 1995, June. He and his staff have went on to change the lives of thousands of individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley.

He continues to train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and loves his journey of changing lives of influencing the people around him.

The Jean-Jacques Machado Santa Clarita Valley Academy is a clean professional environment! We are martial arts first!

The Dunn Family

Professor Dunn is married to his wife, Jada. They have been married since 2007. He and his wife now have three children, Darby, Deegan and Dayton.

Mrs. Jada Dunn is a kindergarten teacher at Sulphur Springs elementary school for the last 20 years or so.

The kids are actively involved in both Basketball and the Martial Arts.
